Paul Newman at 100: Torino Film Festival Celebrates the Icon’s Legacy

Actor Paul Newman (1925–2008) will be featured on the poster and in the program of the 43rd edition of the Torino Film Festival (TFF), running from November 21 to 29, 2025, to mark the centenary of his birth. Organized by the National Museum of Cinema in Turin, Italy, the festival will pay tribute to the American actor with a retrospective showcasing 24 films spanning Newman’s career—from his early roles in the 1950s to his major international hits and most intense, mature performances.

After last year’s celebration of Marlon Brando’s centenary, it felt natural to turn our gaze to Paul Newman,” said Giulio Base, director of the TFF. “They were two giants who shaped cinema and fought for human rights. Now, the spotlight belongs entirely to Newman—with his magnetic performances and a gaze that still speaks to us today.”

In addition to the Turin festival, the Deauville American Film Festival (September 5–14) in France has also announced a tribute to the actor, including a special ceremony in his honor on Wednesday, September 10, which will be attended by his daughter, Clea Newman.
