Alex Kronemer (Lamya’s Poem) is developing a new animation feature film inspired by an ancient Muslim folk story: “The Animals’ Lawsuit Against Humanity”.
In this tale representatives of all members of the animal kingdom go before the Spirit King to claim the terrible treatment they have suffered at the hands of humanity, leading to a trial where humans and animals testify, arguing their views, illustrating both sides of an ecological debate.
Lamya’s Poem had its world premiere this week in competition at Annecy Film Festival and it centers on a 12 year-old Syrian girl who becomes a refugee. At one point her story crosses with the 13th century poet Rumi when he was a boy. Both will help each other in this heartful drama.
